As an artist, everything we do is driven by inspires us. For me, my richest inspirations are borne out of my passion for history and fashion. I have been asked many times why I decided on The French Heart as the name of my shop. What is a French heart? Well, for me, it is a frame of mind. It is the passion for all things beautiful and romantic. It is creating a visually evocative world where what surrounds me, inspires me.
My creative inspiration comes from the romance of days gone by - vintage images, colours and textures. I am an old soul and my creative muse is deeply connected to the Victorian, Edwardian and French Belle Epoque eras. I studied fashion design - with a focus on costume design. It was during this experience that I began to discover my passion for the designs of Charles Worth. Every one of his designs inspires me, and often that whisper of the past finds its way my designs.
My desire is to create vintage French and romantic objects of art that you simply cannot resist. What romantic would not relish a display of sparkling stick pins, a beautiful vintage style necklace or a pair of light catching earrings? We romantics like to write our appreciation and thoughts of good will for our loved ones on beautiful cards, some even holding a hint of glitter.
